Broken Wings: Ambitions

Status: In development as an Feral Fiction interactive AI-driven narrative adventure.

Broken Wings: Ambitions is currently being made as an adventure for the upcoming Feral Fiction platform being developed by PostModern Media, LLC. Through the wonders of leading edge and patent-pending AI technology, Feral Fiction allows ‘readers’ to speak and directly interact with the other characters within the story while advancing through the plot at their own pace. Ambitions represents the first of a three-part adventure that introduces an expansive sci-fi universe currently featuring an exportable starship, over thirty unique characters spanning eight different races that can be interacted with, and much more to come. More information about Feral Fiction can be found on its website at www.feralfiction.com and additional potential applications for the technology can be found within the disclaimer section under the Game Design tab.

Broken Wings Plot Synopsis

“The Prism Alliance, once thought of as an unassailable beacon of hope in a harsh galaxy and proof that members of different alien races can not only coexist but work together for mutual benefit, is in the midst of a losing war. The marauding Keedron Empyrean, which has expanded through the conquest of other races, is bearing down hard on the beleaguered fleets of the Prism Naval Services. With diminishing manpower and resources, the Prism Alliance enacted the Last Chance Initiative in a desperate gambit to avoid a mass mandatory draft that could diminish industrial output by offering criminals the chance to serve in frontline positions in exchange for commuted sentences. Even while Last Chancers must clear both counseling and training before being approved for service, they are often viewed with contempt and distrust by a great many of their fellow soldiers they’re assigned to serve with. Of these, the crew of the Prism Alliance Ship (PAS) Ackland is one of the few to be primarily composed of Last Chancers, including one of the rare captains among their ranks. The ship itself is antiquated and was scraped out of the bottom of a Prism Alliance ship boneyard and brought up to spec with parts salvaged from derelict ships. Redge, the leader of Strike Team Calba is eager for an opportunity to prove the skills of his team beyond training simulations but the crew is continually given long and uneventful patrols on the fringe of Prism Alliance space, well away from the ongoing war. Unknown to the crew, is that everything about their tour of duty has been according to the design of their captain as he prepares to enact a daring plan to change the course of the war with Redge and the members of Strike Team Calba as the tip of the spear.”

The Death of a Dragon

Status: Accepted for publication by a major independent Texas publisher pending fees and revision. A Feral Fiction adaptation of the novel is in progress. Interest has also been shown in adapting the novel into other media, though it is far too early to say anything concrete on the matter.

The first in the Tales from the Magic Realms series, The Death of a Dragon, is the culmination of over ten years of extensive lore building. The story, primarily centered on the unusual and magical world of Terrebethia, will span a number of novels, short stories, and mini-series that combine to show the world’s vast and varied history.

The Death of a Dragon Plot Synopsis

From before the beginning of recorded history, an immense dragon has plagued the world of Terrebethia. Seemingly in an arbitrary manner, the dragon would let off ominous long roars as it lumbers its way across the sky toward a chosen city, barely leaving time for hasty evacuations before destroying the city and turning even stone to ash. On one such occasion a young thief, by the name of Titus Carver, is released from prison and found his way to ancient ruins in which he took shelter. Shortly after, he finds himself in a unique situation to leap from the rafters of a ruined building to slay the dragon as it lay sleeping below. Before Titus can fully grasp what all is going on, he is taken under the wing of Avery, a traveling master swordsman journeying to visit a place of legend. Along the way, Titus gains new traveling companions. First is Avery’s brother, a traveling Lightbringer, who spreads the word of the Creator and ministers to people. The final member is Helen, who had been driven to madness after mistreatment at the hands of bandits but was restored to sanity after being prayed over by Solomon. As they travel, Titus learns more about himself, how to understand others, and his eyes are opened to the many mysteries of the world of Terrebethia that others take for granted. Lessons about greed, good and evil, redemption, and more are also taught throughout, providing gentle Christian undertones.
